Internet America Names Industry Veteran David W. Hanna Chairman of the Board of Directors Dallas, October 28, 2004 (OTC Bulletin Board: GEEK - News) - Internet America Inc., a leading Internet service provider, today announced the election of David Hanna to the Board of Directors. Mr. Hanna, a respected veteran technology entrepreneur who has successfully started and led several technology companies in the wireless, software, computer and other related fields, was also elected to be Chairman of the Board, replacing Billy Ladin, who will continue as Chief Executive Officer. The addition of Mr. Hanna as the chairman adds significant depth to the management team and the Internet America Board. Hanna will help Internet America in the execution of its acquisition strategy and in the expansion of its broadband services using new and emerging technologies such as metro scale and rural Wi-Fi mesh networks, WiMAX and BPL (Broadband over Power Lines). Mr. Hanna currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Blue Coat Systems and Tropos Networks and is also Chairman of Hanna Ventures, a venture capital firm. Mr. Hanna holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Arizona. Mr. Hanna served in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear weapons and guided missile officer, which included one 7 month tour of duty in Vietnam.
